A huge congratulations to Lauren Mitchell (WAIS) who won silver on Beam and Floor for Australia! Also well done to Larrissa Miller (MBC) who placed 7th on Bars!

World Championships update: After proving herself to be a serious finals contender on Vault at podium training, Shona unfortunately dislocated her knee in the qualifying competition during vault warm up and was unable to compete. Doctors say her knee will be fine in 4-6 weeks. Our best wishes and sympathy goes to Shona on being unable to complete her Worlds goals.

Georgia (who’s amazing recovery from ankle surgery this year has surprised everyone) did a very good job competing all four apparatus but unfortunately a fall on bars (and out of bounds on floor) put her just out of the all around finals. Georgia looked poised and professional and was a wonderful ambassador for Australia as always. Congratulations to both girls on their incredible journey in 2009 training and studying VCE full time – we are all very proud of them both – best of luck to Georgia and Shona on their VCE exams next month. Fellow team mates Lauren Mitchell and Larissa Miller have done a fantastic job qualifying for the AA, Floor, Beam and Bars respectively – good luck in the finals and GO Australia!
